Generating ideas - brainstorming

Scroll the screen so that the team are in the middle, play the conversation, then answer the questions that follow!

So would you say that you have a good record of the ideas?

No, this is not really a useful record of the discussion
Yes, you have all the points down.

So, at the end of this round of collecting ideas, you have noted down everyone's contributions. Your notes read:

The team have had a great exchange of ideas! But they're not recorded very well! The key point here is the use of the flipchart. Record brainstormed ideas in the public gaze - there's then only one copy. The team can encourage the scribe to write things up that will be meaningful later on.

Also, it would be best for you NOT to be the scribe. You are the leader, and you have to focus on the task and the people. Ask someone else to record information and ideas.

You can look at some tips for generating ideas at meetings, in the Meetings Toolkit.

Or, go straight on to check how you could deal with Sally's new idea?
