Basis
This is an individual and team profiling tool that assesses
individual and team current mind set and behaviours against
those known to support business development and growth. It
can help managers optimise their ways of working in order
to increase chances of success. |
Introduction
All managers display different preferences for certain
types of activity and are less inclined to behave in other ways.
This is particularly significant when working under pressure.
Why is this important?
Many organisations require the type of leading, future-orientated
entrepreneurial behaviour in managers and teams, that will help
them to overcome barriers and push toward success in difficult times.
This behaviour may be missing, or overlooked - and a team will lack
focus on what it really needs to do.
How can Basis help?
There are many kinds of behaviour and preference assessment tools.
However Basis is unique in being particularly tuned to leadership
and entrepreneurial behaviours. It is very easy to understand and
can quickly open discussion with the team about how it needs to
develop in order to provide proper strategic leadership.
| In this diagram you can see a
typical plot of scores for a team against Basis key dimensions.
In this example the team appears to have a weakness in 'future
orientation' (Exploration). It will be strong in pushing for
action, and also will take care of the 'day to day' priorities.
However, it will be weak in setting Vision and Strategy. |

This is an example of a factor combination plot showing attitude to risk for
each team member.
Here, each members' balance of risk awareness and risk management is shown
as paired bars.
Other useful pairings examine people interaction style, readiness to change,
decision-making style, and much more. |
This is a valuable aid to team development and coaching.
Once again it is produced in very straightforward language and
related directly to the tasks of management.
